Position Summary

Your career with All Risks will begin with an intense training program held at the corporate office in Hunt Valley, Maryland. Trainees in this program will develop practical work experience, marketing skills and competence in the wholesale commercial insurance market. Successful completion of this program will lead to a production position in one of our branch offices across the country. Formal mentoring and coaching will follow to ensure a successful transition to your new career.

Essential Responsibilities:

To be performed with direction from Broker(s) and Underwriter(s).

  • Develop and expand relationships with carrier and retail agent partners to build your book of business
  • Learn to qualify the risks and identify your best opportunities
  • Use strong technical writing skills to summarize account submissions to carrier partners for optimum turn around times and quick identification of opportunities
  • Develop knowledge of carrier markets and their risk appetites
  • Partner with carriers in an informative and ethical manner to place risks for competitive prices and favorable commissions
  • Identify your career path within All Risks and continue professional development along that path

Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Property & Casualty License required within six (6) months of completing university program or satisfying state eligibility
  • College degree in Insurance and/or Risk Management
  • G.P.A of 3.0 or better
  • Demonstrated relationship building and maintaining skills
  • Comfortable with face-to-face presentations and negotiations
  • Ability to communicate (orally and verbally) in an organized and professional manner
  • Good organizational and speaking skills, and exemplary telephone demeanor
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office in Windows environment
  • Ability to travel and entertain business associates
  • Ability to relocate

Physical Demands

May be required to sit, stand and walk for extended period of time. Some manual dexterity may be required for lifting and moving of promotional materials (20 lbs or less) and carrying of laptop computer. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
